For the second time this year a Disneyland Resort Hotel had to be evacuated because of a pizza oven fire. The Anaheim Fire Department was called to the Paradise Pier Hotel on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. after a pizza oven was reported to be on fire. The hotel guests and cast members were evacuated, while the fire was extinguished. The damage was limited to the area surrounding the oven, and hotel guests and employees were able to return to the hotel a half-hour later (according to a source quoted by the OC Register). Earlier this year a similar incident occurred at the Grand Californian Hotel when a pizza oven caught fire at the Storytellers Cafe. During that incident only a portion of the hotel was evacuated. There were no reports of injuries from Saturday’s fire.
