Disney is casting for another group of performers for Buena Vista Street when it opens at Disney California Adventure park this June.
The ‘Red Car News Boys’ is described as a “high-energy group of 1920s/30s-era paperboys [who] will take to the streets of Disney California Adventure Park as they sing and dance to authentic period tunes”.
This is the second performing group that Disney is openly casting for Buena Vista Street. A few weeks ago we told you about a group called “Five and Dime”. “Five and Dime” is described as a high-energy musical group (“Five”) fronted by a female singer (“Dime”) with the vocal stylings of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday”
The “town square” of Buena Vista Street is clearly visible, on the left you can see a Red Car Trolley stop and in the middle a pedistal, which may just be for the new Walt and Mickey Storytellers Statue.
Many electrical and light poles have been installed around Buena Vista Street which seem to skew the perspective around Buena Vista Street a bit. They instantly make the area seem quite a bit smaller, but the scale is impossible to judge with scaffolding, construction walls and incomplete sections of the buildings in the scene.
We should see faux electrical lines installed soon across these poles for the Red Car Trolleys.
