This weekend is your last opportunity to “enter the portal” of ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure park.
ElecTRONica, a night-time dance party held in the Hollywood Backlot area of California Adventure, began in October of 2010 as a promotion for the motion picture TRON: Legacy. Guests of ElecTRONica were entertained by a live DJ, laser lights and a 3D sneak peak of the movie. Visitors also had the opportunity to play their favorite video games from the 80′s in a replication of Flynn’s Arcade. ElecTRONica will end with the conclusion of a dance competition, where the winning team will receive a DISC-OBALL trophy.
The concept of night-time parties began with Glow Fest, a similar party which served as an alternative to guests who were unable to attend a showing of the World of Color show during its debut summer. Glow Fest turned out to be such a hit with guests, Disney replaced it with ElecTRONica.
The conclusion of ElecTRONica helps to mark the relaunch of Disney California Adventure. Starting this June 15th, Buena Vista Street and Cars Land will open and the replacement for ElecTRONica will launch. The Mad T Party, will take inspiration from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and will feature a live band, dancing and specialty drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
The grid of ElecTRONica is open nightly through Sunday, April 15th at Disney California Adventure.
