American painter Thomas Kinkade, known as the “Painter of Light”, passed away at his home at the young age of 54. Kinkade was well a well known and highly popular artist who’s works included a rendition of the Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary version of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
The painting sold in lithograph and print form at Disneyland during the 2005 “Happiest Homecoming on Earth” 50th anniversary celebration of the park’s opening. The painting depicts the famous Disneyland Hub and castle dressed with its gold crowns, banners and 50th anniversary badge.
Thomas Kinkade is said to have died of “natural causes”.
