Disneyland Resort Photo Report for May 28, 2012.
Welcome Back to the Disneyland Resort
It has been a busy week at the Disneyland Resort. We are getting closer and closer to the big June 15th re-launch of Disney California Adventure, which includes many more events resort wide. A few walls have come down in Buena Vista Street, revealing some of the most beautiful Disney park construction I have seen in years. The Carthay Circle Theatre & Restaurant was completely revealed on Friday and the beautiful Carthay Circle Fountain was opened the following day. Disney also launched the successor to the popular ElecTRONica, the Mad T Party. It’s a very different take on the night-time dance parties, and we have quite a few photos and videos to share. The Cove Bar has reopened, signage has appeared for the new Carnation Cafe, and the sight-lines for Cars Land are being spruced up!

Mad T Party
The Mad T Party, the replacement for ElecTRONica, opened this past weekend. This version of the popular Disney dance parties is quite different from the TRON inspired ElecTRONica. The wild collection of colors, music and strange performance art makes for a atmosphere that is easy to classify as “Mad”. If this is what Disney was aiming for, they hit it on the head. Mad T Party is definitely not for everyone. The atmosphere is very different from ElecTRONica and Glow Fest, although despite these differences, this past weekend seemed to be a hit. Perhaps the large turn out was curious annual passholders; only time will tell. On Saturday night (the night these photos were taken) I did spot Mary Niven, The VP of Disney California Adventure and Guest Services; George Kalogridis, President of the Disneyland Resort; and Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, roaming through the Mad T Party. They stopped in the “House of Cards” to take in the atmosphere, and I will say that they all have great ‘poker faces’, I couldn’t tell what their impressions were of this unusual Disney park offering.
The Mad T Party is open Friday – Sunday from now through June 15, 2012 when the ‘Rabbit Hole’ opens nightly.

I truly feel that the Mad T Party Band steals the show. Musically they are great, and the two female singers who perform as Alice area amazing!
Flamingos…
This is probably one of the most odd parts of the Mad T Party.
This show is called “Who R U” but despite the odd nature of this performance, it draws a crowd of curious on lookers.

The games in the Mad Arcade are mostly ticket-games, in modified skee ball and “wack-a-mole” style. In each corner, guests can also play Kinect Disneyland Adventures
