The Matterhorn Bobsleds have been closed for nearly four months as they are receiving an extensive refurbishment, inside and out. For the first time since the attraction was first built in 1959, the iconic Disneyland mountain was completely covered in scaffolding. No small feat, considering the mountain is 147 tall and has no true even surfaces. Imagineers studied the snow fall patterns on the actual Swiss Matterhorn to develop the new look for the snow.
