This past week Disneyland helped to send the men’s and women’s USA Volleyball teams off, as they head out the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
In true Disney style, the athletes and coaches were paraded down Disneyland’s Main Street USA in ticker-tape fashion on the same day that Disneyland celebrated it’s 57th Anniversary. The U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team is ranked as the #1 team in the world and won the Silver Medal in the 2008 Olympic Games. The Men’s National Volleyball Team is the defending Olympic Games champion and is ranked #5 in the world.
Anaheim, the city which Disneyland calls home is also the official host city for the men’s and women’s US National Volleyball teams, both teams train in the city.
