Now in its seventh year, the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend will kick off this Labor Day weekend at the Disneyland Resort. The 13.1 mile race will twist its way through Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park, city streets and Angel Stadium. For the first time, racers will make their way down Route 66 in Cars Land, a new land which opened at Disney California Adventure this past June.
Sunday’s half marathon race is only part of the weekend activities, which includes kids races, a 5K and a weekend long Health and Fitness Expo. The Health and Fitness Expo will be held at the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall and will feature vendors, guest speakers and exhibits to help you prepare for the race, as well as keep you training all year long. The Health and Fitness Expo will also serve as the check-in location for the races.

If you would like to join in cheering the runners along the race routes, Disney has set up ChEAR zones along the finish line and inside Disneyland park. However, if you were hoping to join a ChEAR zone inside the theme parks, Disney is requiring the purchase of a gold or platinum ChEAR Squad package. The ChEAR Squad packages, from bronze (no charge) to Platinum ($134) contain information, grandstand seating inside the parks, to breakfast, parking and gifts, depending on which level you purchase. Learn more here.
Those wishing to cheer on the runners without the purchase of a Disney package may do so at the following locations:
- Race Starting Line, starting at 5:45 a.m.
- Disneyland Esplanade
- Disneyland Dr – Ball Road (mile 4 on the map below)
- Anaheim Stadium, Mile 9.5, starting at 6:30
- Mile 13 behind the Paradise Pier hotel, starting at 6:30 a.m.
Even if you are not planing to attend any of the weekend events or races, you should be aware of street closures and modified park hours. For Friday – Sunday Disneyland park will be open from 9:00 a.m. – Midnight, Disney California Adventure park from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Downtown Disney from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.
The Orange County Register has put a great map together to help you navigate the street closures.
