Disney Explains The Technology Behind World of Color’s Glow with the Show

In June of 2012, Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort debuted ‘Glow with the Show‘, a new enhancement to the World of Color, where specialized Mickey Mouse ears, containing LED and infrared technology, sync together and with different elements of the show in a beautiful and interactive way.

Glow with the Show‘ has been one of those Disney elements which have left guest’s asking, “how did they do that?”.

Now you can find out how it is done and get a glimpse into the new directions Disney may take this technology in the future!

Disney has released a video (above) where Creative Entertainment Technical Director, Chuck Davis takes us behind the scenes and explains some of the technology behind the magic.

The wait times for Radiator Springs Racers continues to exceed two hours, and all of the Fast Passes are consistently distributed within 90 minutes of park opening.  Hopefully demand for this attraction will be reduced after the summer season ends next month.

Preview the Fall of 2012 Disney Twenty-Three Magazine

The Fall issue of the Disney twenty-three magazinethe official publication of the D23 Official Disney Fan Club, is just about here. And we have a sneak peak at the cover and content to share with you.

This new issue will feature the recently completed extreme makeover of Disney California Adventure, focusing on the all new Cars Land. The fall issue of Disney twenty-three will also celebrate ABC’sOnce Upon A Time and will give readers a sneak peak at the upcoming second season.

“Disney fans around the world are flocking to Disney California Adventure to experience the extraordinary transformation of the park,” said Steven Clark, head of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. “With the fall issue of the magazine, we decided to take D23 Members more deeply than ever into the making of 20 new attractions and shows that have been added to the park during the five-year expansion.”

The issue will also explore the D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archivesgive early details on Tim Burton’s latest movie Frankenweenie, and showcase Disney Legend Alice Davis and her recent Main Street USA window dedication.
