Cars Land Loses a Neon Sign
The huge neon sign for what was initially intended to be the FASTPASS distribution area for Radiator Springs Racers, has been removed.
Ever since Cars Land opened on June 15, 2012, the Radiator Springs Racers FASTPASS distribution area has been set up near the entrance to “A Bug’s Land”. This location keeps the long, early morning line, out of this busy section of Cars Land and prevented guests from walking all the way to the back of Cars Land only to find that distribution has concluded for the day.
We reported in the previous Photo and News Report that the machines, again which were never used, had been removed. This past week also saw the removal of the sign and the closure of the ‘garage’ which housed the machines and which was also being used to distribute Guest Assistance Passes. The windows on the garage doors have also been covered with a black material leading me to suspect that the rumored expansion of the nearby Ramone’s House of Body Art retail store may be taking place.
Either way, it seems that Disney has decided to leave the FASTPASS distribution area outside of Cars Land for the long term.
The sign which clearly marked where the FASTPASS location was initially intended to be was quite confusing and had to go. It has been replaced with a tin “ENTRY” sign, which I really hope is temporary.
Here is the way the sign appeared last week
The entire ‘garage’ has been closed off.
There is a small gap, although closed off with a fence, between the garage and Ramone’s.
If the rumored expansion of Ramone’s is correct, and this is what Disney intends to do here, this is the presumed entry point.
(Did you notice all those careful words?)
A few months ago Filmore’s lost the set of beads which dangled in front of the door here. Guests were often seen taking photos in this location under the beads and children were constantly playing with them, and from what Cast Members tell me, they were getting destroyed.
