Around the Resort
Friday morning saw some very light crowds at Walt’s original park. I was able to ‘walk on’ Pirates, Space Mountain and Star Tours before 11 am.
The photo spot Tea Cup has been removed and the railing re-installed.
This is a popular spot for photos, but it is not clear if it will return.
The Tea Cup and Dumbo ‘photo spot vehicles’ were initially installed during the Disneyland 50th Anniversary, Happiest Homecoming on Earth Celebration. During the 50th anniversary, each of the original attractions had a golden vehicle installed on the ride. A golden vehicle was also placed outside of a few attractions for guests to take photos of themselves in. Dumbo and the Tea Cup were repainted with their traditional schemes and kept in place.
More signage has been installed along Big Thunder Trail in an attempt to attract guests back to the Halloween Carnival.
Toon Town
The cab from Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin has been removed for refurbishment
And a small gazebo has been installed behind Minnie’s House.
Back in Tomorrowland, the Starcade will soon be converted into a meet and greet for the upcoming Disney animated film, Wreck-it Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph” is going to be great, and meeting Ralph and Vanellope in the parks will be just as fun. At The Magic of Disney Animation attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll step through Game Central Station, catching glimpses of the various game worlds from the film on your way to “Sugar Rush,” where Vanellope and Ralph are waiting to meet you at the finish line.
At Disneyland park, the arcade world of “Wreck-It Ralph” comes to life within the Tomorrowland Starcade. When Ralph and Vanellope are there, you’ll have an opportunity to meet them at the portal to “Sugar Rush” and can even play a round on the classic arcade game “Fix-It Felix, Jr.”
Look for each of these experiences to open this November, and be sure to catch “Wreck-It Ralph” in theaters November 2 in 3D!

Personally I would love to see the upstairs space of the Starcade utilized, for no other reason than to get back up there after years of it being kept vacant.
Tinker Bell’s newly discovered sister, Periwinkle is now greeting guests in Pixie Hollow. Periwinkle, the “frost fairy” will be introduced in the upcoming film “Secret of the Wings”.
She will be at Pixie Hollow during the fall and winter months.
Snow White’s Grotto has reopened following a refurbishment.
Over in Hollywood Land, Sparky from Frankenweenie has been added to the schedule of classes for the Animation Academy.
Some pricy, but nice, hand drawn sketches are now available at the Disney Gallery.
Disneyland held the first of many Mickey’s Halloween Party events this past weekend. If you plan to go to Disneyland on one of these days, be aware that Disneyland park will close early; California Adventure will typically stay open late.
That’s going to do it for this week’s update. You can see the past updates here.
