Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World will both end their 18 month run of “The Magic, the Memories and You” after this weekend. The show, which involves projecting guest photographs on the facades of “it’s a small world” at Disneyland and Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World, started in January 2011 as part of the “Let the Memories Begin” promotion.
At Disneyland, “The Magic, the Memories, and You” seemed to never really catch on, and only a hand full of guests, most of whom just happened to be in the area, were seen watching the show nightly at the park. With the much larger and dramatic projections on Cinderella’s Castle, the show’s Florida counterpart seemed play to a much larger audience.
During its year and a half run, ‘The, Magic, the Memories and You” has seen a few holiday transformations, one for Valentines Day and a second for this summer season.
Disney announced that “The Magic, the Memories and You” will end it’s run at Disneyland park after this Labor Day Monday, September 3, 2012. At the Magic Kingdom park in Florida, the show will be replaced by a similar projection show called, “Celebrate the Magic”.
