As part of the Disneyland Halloween Time tradition, Jack Skellington has once again moved into the Haunted Mansion. Now in it’s 12th season, Haunted Mansion Holiday has become one of the most anticipated additions to the park’s Halloween Time celebration. The entire mansion has been taken over by scenes and storytelling from the Nightmare Before Christmas film. Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King from Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town and attempts to bring a Halloween version of Christmas to his new friends. But when these two worlds collide, there is bound to be a few strange twists.
One element which changes every year is the large, and very real, gingerbread house. This year the handmade gingerbread house, named “Jack’s House”, sits atop of a large dinning table in the ballroom scene. Reaching a record height of nearly 9 feet, Jack’s House features a ghost train at the base and a flying Zero around the top of the tower.
In a subtle reference to Tim Burton’s newest film, Frankenweenie, an empty grave for Sparky has been added to the Haunted Mansion pet cemetery for this year. During this year’s Halloween Time celebration, guests can watch an extended, 4D preview and see set pieces for Frankenweenie at Disney California Adventure park.
Using the audio soundtrack from the attraction and video captured in September of 2012, we have put together some ride through footage allowing you live this year’s Haunted Mansion Holiday as many times as you wish!
