Disneyland has announced the narrators for the 2012 Candlelight Ceremony and Processional. The Candlelight Ceremony is one of the oldest and time-honored traditions at Disneyland. The event is made up of Disney Cast Members, an orchestra playing classical Christmas hymns and a celebrity narrator – or in this year’s case narrators – who reads the story of the first Christmas as told by the Bible. This year Disneyland is holding a record 20 performances of the Candlelight Processional from December 1 – 20, 2012.
The list of narrators for the 2012 Candlelight Ceremony and Processional at Disneyland are:
- Dec. 1-2: Dennis Haysbert (actor)*
- Dec. 3-5: Kurt Russell (actor and Disney Legend)
- Dec. 6-8: Edward James Olmos (actor)
- Dec. 9-11: Lou Diamond Phillips (actor)
- Dec. 12-13: Dick Van Dyke (actor and Disney Legend)
- Dec. 14: Marcia Gay Harden (actress)
- Dec. 15-16: Patricia Heaton (actress)
- Dec. 17-19: Molly Ringwald (actress)
- Dec. 20: John Stamos/strong> (actor)
Please note that narrators are subject to change without notice.
*December 1-2 performances are by invitation only, as they have been since 1958, when Walt Disney first held these private celebrations to thank partners in the community for their support throughout the year.
Disney has still yet to confirm registration details for Annual Passholder or dining packages, only stating to be sure to “register at http://Disneyland.com/ap to receive updates on Annual Passholder opportunities”.

UPDATE, Nov 5: Disneyland has announced that they will not be offering dining packages for the 2012 Candlelight Ceremony performances and that Annual Passholders will have the opportunity to enter a “sweepstakes” to attend one of the two nightly ceremonies from December 3 – 20, 2012. Annual Passholders can enter the drawing starting November 12 by going to this web page.
