Actor Tom Hanks was seen playing the role of Walt Disney throughout the day at Disneyland today. Hanks is portraying Walt Disney for the upcoming film Saving Mr. Banks. The film tells the story of how Walt Disney was able to sway P.L. Travers (portrayed by Emma Thompson), the creator of “Mary Poppins”, into allowing Disney to create the now iconic and classic film. Saving Mr. Banks is based in 1964 and is filming only a few scenes at Disneyland, re-creating actual events which occurred at the park.

Filming is scheduled to also take place tomorrow, November 7, 2012 in various locations throughout Disneyland.
Saving Mr. Banks is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in December of 2013.
