For myself, Buena Vista Street is the most charming place at the Disneyland Resort this Holiday Season. The 1920′s era shopping, storefront windows, decor and music make it nostalgic for anyone. I can often be found sitting on a Buena Vista Street bench watching guests and the Red Car Trolley all the while listening to classic Christmas songs sung by Bing Crosby, Fats Waller and Benny Goodman. Yes, Buena Vista Street represents the quintessential Christmas of a bygone era this time of year.
I love photography, that’s no secret. One of the driving forces for me to continue this blog is having the ability to share the parks with those who can’t experience it for themselves. Those who live to far away or are prohibited by the ever increasing ticket prices can sit down at their computers, tablets and phones and experience some of what Disneyland has to offer. But one item that is typically missing from this is the music. Music is a huge part of the Disneyland experience, and Buena Vista Street is actually an extreme example of this. The music isn’t just background filler, but the icing on the cake. I’ve spent some time on that bench with the Shazam iPhone app gathering the playlist for the Buena Vista Street Christmas Music Loop. The good news, most of these tunes are available for download online through services such as iTunes and Amazon.
You can preview the music in the player above, however it is Flash based. Below are direct download and preview links from Amazon. As you can see, there are a few duplicates to the playlist, preformed by various artists. This makes it difficult to know if this list is complete. If you hear songs on Buena Vista Street which are not listed below let me know in the comments.
